Job Profile: Sr. Director, West Pricing & Merchandising

Role Mandate:
The Director, West Pricing is accountable for leading the West promotion and planning execution by liaising and being the primary contact with the Grocery BU and Segment Leads. They are also accountable for playing a role in setting Business Unit Merchandising Standards and ensuring the effective communication and execution of these standards and Business Unit programs in store. The incumbent is the prime communication point between West Retail Operations and the Business Unit

Accountabilities:

- Provide Business Unit input to develop format merchandising programs and themes
- Work with Merchandising to set and meet financial targets (sales, profit, margin) for all merchandising programs, ensuring the level of investment delivers target performance for all flyer and instore programs
- Provide input into the program content development process (items and price) across all categories
- Act as the integration point between the Business Unit Categories and Merchandising teams
- Coordinate programs and flyer creation within the BU as set by marketing
- Monitor competitive communication activities and recommend responses
- Develop and manage within annual budgets and approval processes
- Ensure the effective communication of standard merchandising programs to retail, monitoring their execution and continuously improving the Business Unit’s presence in-store
- Ensure that Category programs are designed to enable effective execution focused on total profitability
- Continually monitor and communicate with BU on execution and results
- Assess and communicate planogram/layout concerns to the BU

- Sales, gross profit, gross margin, contribution
- Return on marketing program investment
- Growth in market share
- Control label penetration
- Customer satisfaction
- Effective and timely execution of programs
- Retail execution and adherence to Business Unit merchandising standards
