Senior Analyst, Finance - Financial Systems & Process | Analyst in Job Job at Loblaw Companies1

This job role is responsible for managing and implementing projects related to National Financial Systems. This includes analyzing, resolving, documenting and explaining issues as they arise, and being a subject matter expert for various elements of LCL’s SAP implementation. The role also includes working with the business to understand and facilitate requests for enhancements to existing financial systems and processes. As part of this role, you will work closely with the Business Consulting group by driving the required documentation for development. Once the changes have been completed you will be responsible for testing and implementation. Our department is very project oriented. Therefore, there will be opportunity for involvement in many Process Improvement & Systems Development projects, as deemed appropriate or necessary

Accountabilities
• Analyze, trouble-shoot, and resolve production/project issues raised by business users/project team members
• Drive creation of required documentation for enhancements to existing systems, as requested by the business/management
• Serve as liaison between the Business, Finance, and IT, to ensure that all parties understand and meet expectations
• Create adhoc queries using MS SQL, Smartview and EZTrieve
• Lead and conduct testing of system enhancements and system implementations
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise with respect to Legacy systems and processes
• Coordinate and lead meetings with Finance, the Business and IT as required.
• Take a lead role in communicating any system issues and road blocks to management
• Perform periodic co-existence account reconciliation activities between SAP and legacy systems
• Other ad hoc assignments, as requested by management.

Job Qualifications Role Requirements:
• Strong technical skills (e.g. BiQuery, Access, Excel)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work in order to meet concurrent deadlines
• Ability to quickly learn and understand complex business, accounting and system issues
• Ability to successfully complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lead cross-functional discussions involving Finance, Business & IT
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Strong knowledge of financial/management accounting
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, project-related work environment, with frequently changing priorities and schedules/deadlines
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management
• Knowledge of SAP, Electronic Data Interchange applications, AS400, Hyperion Financial Management systems and Warehouse/Transportation Management systems considered an asset
• Familiarity with System Development Life Cycle and QA Testing principles also considered an asset
