Our client, a transportation company located in Burnaby, is looking for a Planning and Reporting Manager to join their team for a 1-6-month period.

The primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage the corporate operational and capital budgeting and forecasting process
• Develop effective financial control and accountability mechanisms to ensure expenditures comply with budgeted levels
• Co-ordinate the development of long-range financial plans, projections and forecasting trends
• Manage corporate performance monitoring through analysis, review and reporting of key performance indicators
• Manage a team of five professional corporate analysts who provide operational and financial support to specific business areas and functions
• Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual written reports

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Recognized professional accounting designation
• 4 years of previous experience in progressively more responsible positions to a senior level involving responsibility for financial planning, budget and expenditure management, financial modeling, financial and budgeting systems, involving application of management principles and practices
• Sound knowledge of accounting practices and principles, with a focus on developing best practices
• Proven track record of successfully managing and developing staff, together with strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and communications skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills & excellent ability to provide direction to staff and management on targets, etc.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and the program’s formulas & reporting hierarchies

Compensation for this position will be $30.00 per hour.
