Reporting to the Buyer, the Merchandising Assistant performs support functions in the purchasing department.

Responsibilities:

Creates purchase orders into the computer system;

Update on book purchases;

Ensures that suppliers receive purchase orders and price tags;

Performs tracking of shipments and samples and informs the buyer of any problems;

Receives production samples and submit them for inspection;

Acts as a contact between buyer and supplier.

• College diploma in Fashion Marketing or equivalent
• Knowledge of fashion (experience in retail stores a plus)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Teamwork and result oriented
• Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook. Retek is a plus)
• Bilingualism is required (French and English)
