It is the foundation of The Memorial Experience.Summary:Provides direct spiritual care, counsel and support for patients, families and employees of the Memorial Healthcare System.Responsibilities:Maintains day-to-day schedule of pastoral care rounding on patients according to need and house census.Assesses and attends to spiritual needs of patients, family and staff, accommodating varied faith traditions and customs.Provides spiritual services to patients and families across multiple hospital departments (Adult & Pediatric) using a Patient and Family Centered approach.Assists with various administrative tasks supporting the spiritual care program of a given hospital campus.Leads public services as well as spiritual support groups as needed or requested.Provides on-call chaplain coverage (nights/weekends) according to need or established schedule.Attends emergency codes and critical events as needed or requested.Attends clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings, working alongside medical and support staff as a direct care provider.Performs rituals and sacramental rites according to patient/family need or request.Competencies:ACCOUNTABILITY, CUSTOMER SERVICE, EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, PASTORAL CARE, PASTORAL PROFESSIONAL, PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE, RESPONDING TO CHANGE, STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOREducation and Certification Requirements:Bachelors: Theology (Required)Additional Job Information:Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, working with minimal supervision. Required Work Experience: Must have at least one (1) year of hospital ministry experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
