We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Assistant - Co-op Student to do a work placement at our corporate head office in Oakville. This role is responsible for coordinating various H&S specialty areas and providing support to the HR team. The successful candidate will be enrolled in a 4, 8 or 12 month co-operative education program. Responsibilities : Assisting with the coordination of all Health and Safety related initiatives (H&S Excellence program, Safety Bulletins) Acting as a point of contact for all health and safety compliance websites & pre-qualifications Assisting with conducting office inspections Assisting with the drafting of company policies Providing administrative support to HR team (i.e. updating training records, coordinating training initiatives) Maintaining inventory of PPE supplies for all offices Facilitating new employees health and safety orientation Requirements: Enrolled in a University Degree in Occupational Health and Safety - Co-op (4 year preferred) Previous related co-op experience is an asset Strong administrative skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Organizational skills and ability to multitask Strong written and verbal communication skills Relationship-building skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information Professionalism, tact and diplomacy We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free workplace that reflects the communities we serve.
