Position Summary This role is intended for a dynamic individual excited about the opportunity to use technology to help drive customer success while building a successful business with a collaborative and customer-centric culture. The role falls within our Professional Services team and is primarily responsible for delivering IT consultancy services to a broad range of clients. The Network Consultant works in a collaborative method with clients and peers to design and deliver IT projects through all project phases, including presales. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in translating business requirements into technical solutions, while communicating project needs, constraints, and successes. The position reports to the Manager, Service Delivery. The position works 40 hours per week, with business hours being 7:00am to 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday. Balancing multiple project priorities with deadlines is a requirement and there may be a requirement for after-hours work and or travel depending on project needs. What You’ll Do Here Work with a team of other network consultants to provide network support and technical solutions to a broad range of clients. Conduct network security assessments in client environments and provide input on next steps and phase of work to be conducted. Provide guidance to clients on new technologies implemented, including training session/knowledge transfer (where appropriate). Work with Solutions Architects to design effective solutions. Work with purchasing and sales to build an accurate bill of materials for projects requiring hardware and software. Plan and execute network security implementation or migration projects ensuring compliance with organizational requirements and technology best practices. Technical Lead on projects from initial assessment, technical design, planning, through to implementation and handover. Develop technical design and as-built documentation. Work with your Project Manager to build an accurate project task list and schedule. Work with your Project Manager to ensure timely project updates, roadblock, issues, schedule changes, and risks are communicated, as required. Complete scheduled health checks and perform firmware updates in client environments. Support other technical teams by providing networking expertise. Work with Technical Director in the development and continuous improvement of existing network security technologies best practices and governance. Prioritize multiple project and deliverables to plan your time effectively. Qualifications/Expertise 8+ years of directly relevant experience in a highly complex network. Proven experience in wireless design and implementation to best practices. Proven experience in wired network design and implementation to best practices. Proven experience in the design, implementation, ongoing management, and upgrade of the following network technologies (or equivalent): Aruba CX Switching Aruba AP Wireless Aruba Central Cloud Management with Template & UI Configuration Aruba Clearpass with Certificate Authentication and Integration Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki Switching Cisco Catalyst and Meraki Wireless Fortinet Firewalls, FortiSwitches, and FortiAP’s Fortinet FortiCloud, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer Palo Alto Firewalls Palo Alto Panorama Zscaler Security Services Edge Platform Cloudflare Security Services Edge Platform Proven experience in the implementation of dynamic routing and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP. Proven experience in the implementation of certificate-based authentication for wireless and wired networks (e.g., Colourless ports, Dynamic User Roles) Expert level knowledge of networking & firewalling in the Azure IAAS cloud Expert level knowledge of enterprise firewall management and configuration, including optimization and hardening. Expert level knowledge of datacenter networking (segmentation, security, VRRP/Active Gateway, etc). Expert level knowledge of VPN and VPN protocols, including DMVPN, IPSEC, and GRE. Expert level knowledge of IP, TCP, and UDP troubleshooting with tools such as Wireshark. Expert level knowledge of switching, routing, and firewalling design and integration. Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems network-related troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, Entra, Active Directory, SMB protocol, and certificate/PKI services. Expert level knowledge in the design of Security Services Edge platforms and implementation Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of the project delivery process, as it relates to technical requirements, task dependency and implementation. Working knowledge of infrastructure as a code. Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory. Working knowledge of InterVRF and MultiVRF configurations and design. Working knowledge of Network Configuration, Management, and Automation systems (i.e. Aruba Central, Cisco DNA). Working knowledge of Firewall Management Solutions (i.e. Fortigate FortiManager, Palo Alto Panorama). Certifications (achieved, willing to work toward, or equivalent experience) Aruba ACMA, ACNSA and ACSA Cisco CCNA, CCIE and CCNP Fortinet NSE4 or higher Palo Alto PCNSE Zscaler EDU-200, EDU-202 (or equivalent) Continuing education and training a must.
