The Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to join the research team at the Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The successful candidate will work independently under the direct supervision of Drs. Pierre Côté and Dan Wang, with input from the project partners including co-investigators and principal knowledge users. The post-doctoral fellowship will have the opportunity to analyze large population-based data pertaining to disability and rehabilitation care for musculoskeletal disorders. The position is offered for 12 months, with an annual salary of $60,000 starting in September 2024. This is a hybrid position with the requirement of being onsite at either IDRR location (Oshawa or North York)Responsibilities/Accountabilities: * Collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team to develop research hypotheses, design data collection strategies, and interpret study results. * Conduct statistical analyses of large-scale population-based health data (e.g. Canadian Community Health Survey) to determine the need for an the utilization of rehabilitation care, and the supply of rehabilitation workforce (e.g. Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists). * Coordinate Advisory Committee Meetings. * Engaging in knowledge translation activities related to rehabilitation care utilization. * Planning, writing papers and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences. * Assisting in the preparation and submission of grant proposals.Required Education: * Ph. D. in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, or relevant fieldRequired Experience: * Knowledge of observational epidemiology and biostatics. * Strong analytical skills and experience with analyzing epidemiological data using statistical software such as SAS, STATA, R, or Python. * Experience using ArcGIS for spatial analysis is an asset. * Experience in manuscript preparation, publications, and grant proposals. * Strong scientific writing and verbal communication skills in English. * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC.
