Position: This is a Bargaining Unit Contract Position (80 hours in a two-week period) position.Purpose of the Position:Reporting to the Program Manager, the Registered Nurse participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team, to provide treatment, rehabilitation, support and crisis intervention services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in the clients? environment of choice. Qualifications: Current Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses Bachelor?s Degree or Diploma in Nursing Additional training or qualifications in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Knowledge of the Assertive Community Treatment Team Model (ACTT) A minimum of 3-5 years experience with individuals with mental illness Demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in: Psychosocial rehabilitation; Conducting mental status examinations; Assessing, managing and evaluating crisis situations; Conducting physical assessments; and Developing treatment plans for clients living in the community Knowledge of: Current psychotropic medications, including side effects and therapeutic effects. Mental Health Reform, the Mental Health Act, and other appropriate legislation. Housing, social, financial and vocational and other community resources. Demonstrated ability to: Develop and maintain effective professional and therapeutic relationships. Be flexible in work assignments and work effectively under pressure. Demonstrated: Commitment to professional development. Capacity to work effectively in a team. Computer skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. A valid driver?s license and use of a vehicle. Proof of 2 Covid vaccines required.
