(“Triton”) is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Wildlife Biologists, at all experience levels, to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Kamloops, BC office and be part of exciting ongoing projects that are integral to building the local and provincial community. This position will appeal to individuals with a passion for working outdoors and who thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment. Successful candidates will be part of a team building world-class projects that balance environmental stewardship with responsible resource development. Responsibilities, depending on experience level, include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducting and/or helping to support wildlife surveys and monitoring procedures, including breeding bird and herptile surveys, pre-disturbance nest surveys, nest monitoring, various sensitive species-specific surveys, construction mitigation for wildlife, bat surveys and monitoring, and herptile capture and relocation Providing technical wildlife expertise and/or support to collaborative project teams Managing and/or helping to support tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and delivering quality reports on schedule Liaising with on-site client representatives and contractors Providing and/or helping to support the quality and independent review for projects Providing an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advising clients accordingly Working collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Skills and qualifications, ranging with experience level, will be in the following areas: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related field Registered Professional Biologist is preferred for more senior level candidates. Conducting a broad variety of wildlife scopes in both pre-construction and construction settings Species at Risk experience and/or knowledge is an asset. Experience and knowledge of Provincial and Federal regulations, as well as guidance materials Ability to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations, staying in a mix of camp and hotel accommodations For more senior level candidates, having experience with technical writing, reporting, communication, team leadership, and project management Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory, acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting HOW TO APPLY If this opportunity sounds like you, and you are serious about joining a progressive team of environmental consultants, please apply with a resume and cover letter. CONTRACT TERM DURATION This is a temporary term position, that is targeted to start June 1, 2024, and going until October 31, 2024. There is potential that there could be an extension of the contract or the opportunity for a permanent full-time role. COMPENSATON The compensation is wide ranging and dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. The pay range for more junior staff can start at $23 dollars per hour going up to $54 per hour for more senior staff. CLOSING DATE This posting will be closed on May 24, 2024.
