Yorktown Search Partners is currently engaged in a confidential search on behalf of our client for a Vice President to lead the Origination team nationally within the commercial mortgage sector. This pivotal role demands a seasoned expert in commercial real estate finance. Key Responsibilities: Lead and expand the Origination team nationwide, leveraging established teams and recruiting new members. Develop and execute origination strategies aligned with our clients long-term Strategic Plan. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee day-to-day operations to achieve business targets. Foster key customer relationships and identify opportunities for business growth. Collaborate with Investment Management on underwriting due diligence and investor approval processes. Develop and implement national marketing and sales strategies through various channels. Drive innovation and adaptability to market changes, recommending policy and product enhancements. Leadership and Governance: Champion the company's vision, mission, and values, internally and externally. Lead, develop, and retain a high-performance origination team. Establish performance standards, promote innovation, and ensure compliance. Represent the company in relationships with major stakeholders and industry groups. Ensure team members are properly licensed and compliant with legislative requirements. Qualifications: Minimum 10 years' experience in the Canadian commercial mortgage market. 2-3 years' leadership experience with a focus on team development. Proficiency in MS Office suite. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, with professional designations considered an asset. Mortgage Broker License required. Key Success Factors: Achieve volume and profitability targets. Ensure compliance with policies and risk parameters. Foster an engaged and adaptable team.
