About The Opportunity: In this position, you are part of a team dedicated to enhancing Prince George parks. Your daily work will consist of turf construction and maintenance including new landscaping, turf repair, minor irrigation repair, over-seeding, fertilizing, sweeping, and mowing. The work involves physical labour, equipment operation, routine inspection, record keeping and report writing. You will also be required to operate s mall, motorized equipment (including a skid steer loader, operating as an EQ2) and will be working outdoors in all weather conditions. You may be exposed to unpleasant waste materials and other biohazards in the course of your duties. About Your Background: Along with Grade 12, you have a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience, along with knowledge of turf construction and repair, general construction, carpentry repairs, and horticultural and arboricultural principles related to gardening, landscaping, and park maintenance. You also have equipment operating experience on a skid steer along with some previous supervisory experience. Ideally, you hold a Level 1 Occupational First Aid certification. A valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver's license (or out of province equivalent) is required. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offences related to the position.
