SUMMARY: The position of EDM Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating EDM equipment used to machine parts and components for the mold industry. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager, Finishing Operations. * Please note this position is for day shift (7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday). Company matching contributions to RRSP group plan Comprehensive group benefit plan including medical, dental, life insurance coverage and a generous HCSA Employee Assistance Program MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Program and setup EDM machines and work with minimal supervision; Determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and set up requirements from programs, process sheets and/or component drawings; Select, preset and adjust settings needed for optimal speed and tolerances; Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment; Ensure that all machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times; Conduct minor preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled; Complete minor troubleshooting as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Post-Secondary education – Completion of College or Certificate in General Machinist, CNC Programming or similar mechanical program preferred, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 1 year experience operating EDM machines Experience in a machine shop setting, mold making industry preferred.
