This role is complex and requires flexibility, creativity and excellent organization and time management skills. The Simulation Technologist?s responsibilities are based on concepts of experiential learning and simulation-based education. This role is responsible for providing support services to simulation faculty including the set-up and breakdown of simulation scenarios and basic troubleshooting of simulation equipment and technologies. The Simulation Technologist has a basic understanding of simulation-based education and healthcare equipment and terminology. Due to the advancement of simulation technologies, it is important for this role to demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies.Duties and Responsibilities Prepares, assembles, and disassembles equipment for practical application in simulation work; Tests new apparatus, technology and equipment; Takes responsibility for the care and cleaning of machinery, equipment and supplies and may recommend to the Program/Department the purchase of new equipment; As required by BCIT, actively participates in the inventory process to ensure that equipment is properly accounted for on the inventory list; Effects repairs on simulation apparatus and equipment; Attends Program/Department meetings; May assist in the preparation of audio-visual technologies and equipment; Performs such other related work as may be required, consistent with the foregoing Characteristic Duties and Job Summary Qualifications Two (2) years of experience as a Simulation Technologist or Laboratory Assistant plus one additional year of appropriate post-secondary education; or Diploma of Technology or equivalent. Knowledge of healthcare equipment and terminology, including simulation-based education preferred Benefits ?
