Position Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is part of an effective construction team that successfully completes projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable codes while maintaining high quality and a safe workplace. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the scraper for road building and other projects. Responsibilities Operates heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and work plans Performs daily safety and maintenance checks Cleans equipment as scheduled and/or required Ensures equipment is safely and securely stored Advises Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repair Participates in routine fueling and maintenance Practices workplace safety May operate other heavy equipment as required May perform other related duties as required Qualifications 2+ years experience in heavy equipment operation Experience in a construction environment or in a similar role Familiar with construction terms and practices Effective verbal and listening communication skills Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments Must be a team player Must possess a valid driver’s license Powered by JazzHR
