(Triton) is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Prince Rupert location to fill the position of boat operator. THE ROLE The successful candidate will be responsible for operating boats on a variety of projects, mainly in the Prince Rupert area, but potentially also in the Kitimat area. This position has an immediate opening. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Certifications in Transport Canada Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP), Marine Emergency Duties (MED-A2 or MED-A3), and Restricted Operator’s Certificate Maritime (ROC-M) Certification in Marine or Occupational First Aid Level 1 Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence Experience operating a variety of vessels in a marine environment; experience in a riverine environment is an asset Knowledge of marine navigation requirements Experience implementing safe operating procedures, including crew safety briefings and instructions to passengers and crew members Solid understanding of small engines and ability to perform basic mechanical diagnostics and maintenance Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions SCHEDULE The schedule for this role will entail shift work, such as 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. However, this could be subject to change, depending on business needs. In addition, there might be a requirement to fill in for any needed ad hoc shift days, depending on business needs.
