Advantage Group International is looking for an IT Security and Infrastructure Specialist to become part of our Digital team and help us improve, secure and maintain IT infrastructure. This infrastructure runs applications that serve our clients and manage our business. The successful candidate will demonstrate practical experience in creating, running, and keeping up existing IT Infrastructure while expanding our systems. Who We Are Seeking Our company needs an Information Technology (IT) Security and Infrastructure Specialist who can use their technical skills to improve, secure and maintain the IT infrastructure that runs our client-facing and back-office applications in a hybrid (cloud and on-premises) environment. The selected candidate will collaborate with the IT Infrastructure and Security Manager to ensure our infrastructure satisfies or surpasses all the standards for security, performance, supportability, and availability. We are looking for someone who: Has at least 2 years of experience in designing, supporting, operating, implementing, and maintaining hybrid infrastructures. Has demonstrated experience in carrying out IT infrastructure projects and initiatives. Has a good grasp of cyber security and Information security standards. Has a good understanding of Virtualization including hardware platforms, storage devices, and network resources. Has experience creating and deploying containerized applications. Is proactive in identifying IT Infrastructure needs, practices required in the business and can communicate their value clearly. Has experience overseeing complex IT infrastructure for security, reliability, performance and proactively taking care of warning signs before they become service interruptions. Can examine, troubleshoot, and resolve complex IT infrastructure issues. Can contribute to the development of IT technology roadmap that is in line with business strategy. Flourishes in a small multi-disciplinary team environment. Is eager to help us improve our IT infrastructure and Security. Has experience with Infrastructure automation following DevOps best practices. Can work in an Agile environment, be part of a team and manage your own time. Your Day-to-Day Currently – in production – a variety of internal and external applications are used to create surveys, analyse responses, and report the results to some of the world’s leading organizations. We are developing, maintaining, and enhancing production systems and improving their functionality and performance over time. Your responsibilities will involve: Set up and adjust new environments according to business requirements and needs. Act as the first point of contact for all IT Infrastructure incidents and collaborate with other teams and peers to resolve incidents quicky to the end-user’s satisfaction. Perform frequent IT Infrastructure assessments using metrics from the monitoring systems to propose and execute enhancements with the goal to proactively avoid incidents. Plan, design and build solutions for new applications, tools, and platforms. Perform regular security audits, security vulnerability scans and fix any issues. Establish and enforce relevant technical procedures and standards. Gain a deep understanding of the current architecture and oversee developing future component architecture and migration plans. Review new technologies, tools and solutions. Create Proof of Concepts (PoCs) as needed to select best solution alternatives. Your Skill Set You should have experience with most of the following: Cloud technologies and public cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, AWS and Office 365. Extensive Linux and Windows hands-on experience. Software and Cyber Security. Data Privacy GDPR, CCEP, POPIA, PIPEDA etc. Experience with containerizations tools such Docker, Kubernetes. Experience with one or more relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL Server, Snowflake, Amazon RDS Virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Open-Source Hypervisors. You should understand: Common development tools, such as Maven, Git, Jenkins BI tools like Tableau, Power BI Software architecture Relational data Nice to have: ITIL foundation certificate or fair understanding of ITIL framework. Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with DevSecOps practices. Experience in Standard Cabling System. Cisco firewalls and switches CLI experience including setup of VLANs and access rules. Your Characteristics Fantastic written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills. Comfortable leading change Discipline to be productive without a rigid methodology. A creative thinker: need to be able to come up with novel solutions to established problems and evaluate their business benefit.
