Currently, we have an opening for a/an:</p><p><strong>Title:</strong> Financial Controller </p><p><strong>Main Purpose</strong></p><p>As a member of the Finance team, the job incumbent will be actively involved in all accounting & finance activities for multiple domains.</p><p>The position will also have the responsibility to support the activities of Thales Digital Solutions & assist the finance team with any other country finance tasks as required by management.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in the month end process and support the finance shared service department</li><li>Prepare internal management reports with appropriate analysis.</li><li>Participate actively in the budgeting process.</li><li>Prepare timely reports for management in order to assist in the decision making process.</li><li>Support various bids & proposals</li><li>Coordinate various audits, subsidy claims & participate in the preparation of the Canada statutory financial statements and tax filings</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>University degree in accounting or finance</li><li>Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA or CPA, CMA) required (or in process of obtaining)</li><li>Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, within an accounting firm or a multinational organization</li><li>Willingness to be hands-on</li><li>Bilingualism (French / English)</li><li>Knowledge of SAP is an asset</li><li>Good proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite</li><li>Excellent knowledge of accounting principles</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Maturity and initiative; adaptability to new situations</li><li>Good organizational skills; attention to detail and respect for the work methodology</li><li>Ability and interest to use each opportunity to improve working methods and tools</li><li>Excellent team player</li></ul><p>Thales is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applicants from the four designated groups (women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and aboriginals) to apply for employment.
