A full-service accounting firm is looking for Tax manager. As a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager you will be a key member of the Tax Group actively contributing to the success of the firm by delivering exceptional client service, being a team player, managing tax engagements, be a key member of the sales and delivery team and be a strong technical resource to our clients. The clients are diverse and work in a wide variety of industries including technology, real estate and construction, manufacturing and distribution, entertainment , restaurants and resources. Their tax practice offers the opportunity for a candidate to work in a wide range of tax projects, including corporate reorganizations, succession and estate planning, estates and trusts, business acquisitions and dispositions, inbound, outbound and cross border tax planning and complex tax compliance. In particular, they are seeking Canadian tax professionals who have over six years of Canadian tax experience as a manager or senior manager at a midsize or larger firm, ideally focused in the areas of Canadian tax planning for owner-managed businesses and their owners. Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for clients; Advise on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies and compliance issues; Research and analyze a wide variety of tax issues; Write tax articles and blogs on significant tax changes proposed and implemented by various Canadian tax authorities; Review and advise on complex corporate, personal and trust tax returns; Assist in the research for, implementation, planning and filings for transactions undertaken by our clients; including business dispositions/acquisitions, tax reorganizations, estate planning etc; Review the work of other team members, train, develop and mentor members of the tax group; Assist with client management and foster excellent relationships with clients and initiate business development opportunities. Qualifications Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program; Qualified CPA with 6+ years of Canadian tax experience in a mid-sized or large CPA accounting firm; Experience in a wide variety of tax fields, especially for private enterprise clients and in the areas of corporate reorganizations, business/asset dispositions, estate planning, compensation strategies; Strong technical and research skills with the ability to adapt tax strategies to unique circumstances; Demonstrated tax planning experience in owner managed businesses; Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service and an ability to provide practical advice; Ability to develop a positive rapport with staff and emerging leadership skills; Superior organizational and analytical skills; and Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
