For more information, please visit our website: tbitspecialists.com Job details: Position: Computer Network TechnicianType: Permanent, full-time (30 hours per week)Hourly wage: $31.50Benefits: Health care, dental plans, financial benefits, paid mileage Job location: Vancouver office at 1980 Pandora St, Vancouver, BC V5L 0C7 Main duties: Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, as well as computer workstations and peripheral equipment; Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software; Using master consoles monitor computer systems and network performance and co-ordinate access and use of computer networks; Provide troubleshooting support to network users; Implement data, software and hardware security protocols; Perform routine network start-up and shutdown procedures and maintain control records; Perform server and data backup and disaster recovery; Manage, troubleshoot and upgrade hardware and software for web servers; Set up local area networks and internet connections; Implement network traffic and security monitoring software to optimize server performance. Employment requirements: 1-2 years of prior experience as a network technician. College degree in computer science or a related discipline. Proficient knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies. Strong communication skills (oral and written). Language of communication: English. Customer support aptitude.
