Growth and transformation are a natural part of our business and our employees evolve with us.We are looking for Plant Assistants at our Grey-Bruce location.Plant AssistantsWe're looking for Plant Assistants to work at our Grey-Bruce location.In this role, you'll assist our primary operators in the operation and maintenance of our mobile crushing spreads. This equipment creates sand, gravel and stone products to be used in construction projects throughout the region.Primary Responsibilities: * Perform and document all daily pre-operational checkups on the equipment being used * Perform daily general maintenance such as greasing and fluid revision and top ups as required * Report any immediate repairs required for the safe operation of the equipment to the direct Supervisor * Operate equipment in the most efficient manner as possible, striving to reduce cycle times and overall downtime while observing the companies safety policies * Use all required PPE at all times when leaving the equipment's operator station * Assist with all operation, repair and maintenance tasks being performed * Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture * Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections * Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program * Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others Eventually, you'll learn more about machine operation and become an operator yourself. If you have a great attitude, are willing to learn fast and work hard, you and your career could really thrive here.Although experience is not required, the ideal candidate will come with some experience in a similar environment. Some quarrying, heavy equipment or construction experience would be considered an asset, in addition to surface miner common core safety training, although it can be provided, as well.You'll love this role if you like working on a team - we value teamwork and open communication.
