Visual Inspection Technician

Description:
Intech International Inc. is seeking Visual Inspection (VI) Technicians for the upcoming Unit 1 Inspection outage at Bruce Power. VI work programs can take place on steam generators, the reactor face and other areas within the containment building. VI inspectors use cameras and gauges on long-reach tools to inspect components and areas of special interest. Responsibilities : Read and understand procedures. Review the Individual Training Plan (ITP) issued for the particular unit outage and successfully complete the ITP. Use the training facility and mock-ups to complete written and practical skills testing. Learn and utilize handheld clearance tools for face and cabinet inspections. Utilize a Fiber Optic Video Probe to inspect the assigned area. Become familiar with handheld digital camera operation. Understand operation of Vault communications and air header hook ups. Complete vision testing. Requirements : A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are needed to travel to and from the work site and training locations. Completion of an NDT/NDE program is preferred. Additional Requirements : Candidates who are accepted and offered employment must be able to accommodate any schedule delays and extensions to the end date. Workers accepting this call require at least 1 Rem of available dose in 2024. No regulatory limits will be exceeded but may be reached. Site supervision will endeavor to minimize and equalize dose among the workers. All workers supporting outage projects must: Be comfortable working from heights. Be comfortable working within confined spaces. Be comfortable working within a radiological environment. Be comfortable working while wearing the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) i.e., a rubberized aspirated suit. Be able to work for 12 hour or longer shifts. Able to work the night shift if required (shift premium paid for night shift hours per the Quality Control Agreement). Successfully complete medical and site procedural requirements. Successfully complete a security clearance background check through CSIS/CPIC. Successfully complete employer and customer site and safety requirements. Successfully complete job competency training. Pass a performance evaluation after training is complete. Compensation The hourly rate starts at $21.08 per hour. Overtime rates are applicable. A daily per diem is paid to workers who are unable to reasonably commute daily from their residence to the job site location. All technical and safety training is paid and provided. Please note this is a temporary, part-time contract for the duration of the project (end of January to beginning of March). Successful candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends and possibly night shifts throughout the duration of the project. We thank you for your interest.
