Intermediate/Sr. Accountant Norton McMullen LLP is a full-service CPA firm located in Markham that has been in business for over 55 years. We are seeking trustworthy candidates who work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a developing accountant to use and build upon their experience! The position offers significant opportunities for growth, in both compensation and accounting skill development. Your primary responsibilities will include: Business Accounting and scheduled monthly management reporting Government reporting (GST/HST, payroll, WSIB, EHT) Preparation of working papers for compilation of Notice to Reader, year-end financial statements Preparation of Personal & Corporate Income Tax returns - (NM can train on this if necessary) Providing clerical and administrative support Responding to clientele inquires/requests with added value Other responsibilities and projects as required A successful candidate will have: Experience in: Management accounting, cost accounting, margin reporting 3-5 years of prior experience in these areas A CPA or the desire to pursue a CPA is not required nor encouraged Strong knowledge of MicroSoft Excel, consolidation statements in excel, Word, Outlook & QuickBooks Prior experience as an internal company Controller Ability to meet monthly time deadlines is very important (NM acts in the capacity of an external Controller for our client base) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong time-management, including the ability to manage conflicting priorities A high level of accuracy and strong attention to details Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills Team-oriented and client-focused thinking Honesty, integrity, promptness and ethical behavior Salary Expectation: $50,000 - $65,000 (*Commensurate with experience & reviewed annually based on performance) Group Benefits package and RSP plan with company-matching is also available.
