Training Manager Job overview:
· Manage a small team of trainers for both new and experienced drivers.
· Run School bus driver improvement courses
· Perform driver evaluations for safety purposes and also for pre-employment
· Coordinate and/or teach all courses for which you are qualified. These would include; PDIC (Professional Driver Improvement Course), 1st Aid, Air Brake refreshers for existing employees who operate vehicles with air-brakes, various defensive driving courses for which drivers need and sometimes request refreshers Hazardous material handling for shop personnel
· Orientating new employees on company policies, rules, and procedures
· Maintain up to date records of training delivered in personnel files
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure new training needs are identified and the applicable classes are developed and made available
· Produce reports as required
· May have to travel to locations in Alberta Knowledge/Skills:
· Valid Class one or 2 Alberta Driver’s license
· Knowledge of both School Buses and Motor Coaches an asset
· Knowledge of Log books, pre-trips and legislation
· Excellent people and communication abilities
· Expertise to work unsupervised or with a team
